Everyone’s been talking about the 12th General Election lately. I’ve been refraining myself from sharing my views on political matters but I just couldn’t. I thought I didn’t care at all but now, I’m not so sure myself. I’m not even qualified to vote, well.. just not yet.. I even stayed up till 3.30 am yesterday just to see the result. I had been refreshing the Malaysiakini website for countless of times, just to get the latest news on the result. The first thing that struck me hard was the announcement of “Opposition wins Selangor - 12.25 am”. (I live in Selangor so that’s why I do care.) Yes, I couldn’t believe myself at first.

OMG! Is this for real? That’s not just that. Even though BN wins the federal government, the opposition takes over five states. Last night, I put up the headline of opposition’s victory on Selangor on my Friendster shoutout and suddenly, this friend of mine sent me a message. She was hoping that the opposition will take over Terengganu as well. I dunno how I should react after reading that statement. I’m neither pro-BN nor pro-opposition. I just wanna stay neutral. I don’t know much about political stuffs so I just might as well shut my mouth. I still feel like I’m a little kid despite of my age. (Mira! You’re already 20 and just snap into reality, will you?) :-P

Anyway, there are things that I don’t agree with both sides. Of course, none of them are perfect. Humans will never be perfect right.. And there’s no such thing as flawless ever exists in this world. This friend of mine does not approve the Crystal Mosque construction in Kuala Terengganu. Yes, I’ve heard about it before and some of my friends have been there. I tried to search more on it and I was really surprised to find that it costs millions ringgit for the construction. I’m not sure whether this is true or not. Saya katak bawah tempurung sikit. Many actually don’t approve its construction. I’ve read tons of comments on it, saying that it’s not a necessity at all to spend such astronomical amount of money on it. It is a good thing to build a mosque but the intention itself that doesn’t seem right. What’s the point of having it if they just wanna show off? (That was what I’ve been told by the commenters). “Tanda akhir zaman. Manusia berlumba-lumba membina bangunan (masjid umpamanya) untuk tujuaan bermegah-megah.”

Rasa2 nya, rakyat marah sebab habiskan duit rakyat. :-) Okay2, I think I better stop now before someone come and shoot me. I can’t believe that I’m actually saying all these stuffs.

Anyway, back to the General Election result. Let’s just hope for the best for the future of Malaysia. This is what Malaysians have chosen and I hope that they have made the right choice. Wait and see..
