It’s the state of bliss you think you’re dreaming..
Everyone’s been talking about the 12th General Election lately. I’ve been refraining myself from sharing my views on political matters but I just couldn’t. I thought I didn’t care at all but now, I’m not so sure myself. I’m not even qualified to vote, well.. just not yet.. I even stayed up till 3.30 am yesterday just to see the result. I had been refreshing the Malaysiakini website for countless of times, just to get the latest news on the result. The first thing that struck me hard was the announcement of “Opposition wins Selangor - 12.25 am”. (I live in Selangor so that’s why I do care.) Yes, I couldn’t believe myself at first.
OMG! Is this for real? That’s not just that. Even though BN wins the federal government, the opposition takes over five states. Last night, I put up the headline of opposition’s victory on Selangor on my Friendster shoutout and suddenly, this friend of mine sent me a message. She was hoping that the opposition will take over Terengganu as well. I dunno how I should react after reading that statement. I’m neither pro-BN nor pro-opposition. I just wanna stay neutral. I don’t know much about political stuffs so I just might as well shut my mouth. I still feel like I’m a little kid despite of my age. (Mira! You’re already 20 and just snap into reality, will you?)
Anyway, there are things that I don’t agree with both sides. Of course, none of them are perfect. Humans will never be perfect right.. And there’s no such thing as flawless ever exists in this world. This friend of mine does not approve the Crystal Mosque construction in Kuala Terengganu. Yes, I’ve heard about it before and some of my friends have been there. I tried to search more on it and I was really surprised to find that it costs millions ringgit for the construction. I’m not sure whether this is true or not. Saya katak bawah tempurung sikit. Many actually don’t approve its construction. I’ve read tons of comments on it, saying that it’s not a necessity at all to spend such astronomical amount of money on it. It is a good thing to build a mosque but the intention itself that doesn’t seem right. What’s the point of having it if they just wanna show off? (That was what I’ve been told by the commenters). “Tanda akhir zaman. Manusia berlumba-lumba membina bangunan (masjid umpamanya) untuk tujuaan bermegah-megah.”
Rasa2 nya, rakyat marah sebab habiskan duit rakyat.
Okay2, I think I better stop now before someone come and shoot me. I can’t believe that I’m actually saying all these stuffs.
Anyway, back to the General Election result. Let’s just hope for the best for the future of Malaysia. This is what Malaysians have chosen and I hope that they have made the right choice. Wait and see..

i oso thought i don’t care. but to think that this is my country’s future and the future of myself as well make me change my mind. Almost all of the sites that I’ve read seem happy with the result. Just cannot wait and see pembaharuan2 yg diorg ckp2.

Me too actually, I never really cared about the political stuff in Malaysia as long as I’m happy living here. But ever since I joined Malaysiakini.com I have learn and see what is really happening. And I am one of those who feel happy about the results.

i thought I didn’t care, too. my parents were talking about the politics and said, “Aisyah, why do you still have that school kids mentality? watch the news, read newspaper” and they start to talk about politics again.
in the end, i do care a little. but i’m still confused. hmm…

Jaja: Huhu.. Same here. Yea, I realised that too. Most of them seemed happy with the result. I bet they’re pro opposition. Let’s wait and see. Hope they do fulfill sume janji2 yg telah ditaburkan.
Winterwish: Yea, I was thinking that way too. Maybe I’m becoming more mature these days so that’s why I do care now. I’ll get to vote in the next general election.
Oh, found another person here! Lol~
Mr. B: Yeah.. 5 states altogether kan. Penang pun. Perak was so close. Haiyah.. Lol!! Peter! You do care about small2 thing meh. I thought no one would have realised that. Takde la. My thoughts bukannye sophisticated langsung la. Most of the time, I lack of opinions of my own. Sy tak pandai bagi cadangan sendri.
Keroro: Huhu.. Dunno lah. I wouldn’t say anything on that. *shrugs*
MK: Whoa! Then, I’m not all alone! There are people like me outside there. Weee..
Oh yea, I’m neither one of them too but I’m hoping all those changes that they have been promising to the people of Malaysia will be realised one day.
Aisyah: Lol. My parents would have say the same thing to me too if they’re around. Last time, I messaged with my dad and he had been talking about politics all along. I guess that was what that made me a bit “semangated” about politics.
yea, same here. Still confused. And if I get to vote this year, I would be..undecided.
starwalker: Rase cam logik la gak kan. Huhu..
Huy Ming: Bagus la kalau camtu.. Sy pun rase sy patut care mulai dari skarang. I love

I won’t say I didn’t care. I just malas amek port because until the birth of a group among the rakyats came into politics, nothing will really change.
